The Colorado Professional Fire Fighters have recently made a tremendous victory in the state by passing SB 180 through the Senate. The CPFF has worked very hard for many years to gain collective bargaining rights for fire fighters in our state. This legislative a bill is now being moved to the house and we have a short time to act on it. However it will be nearly impossible to pass without you. WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW!!!.
We ask that you send this quick email to all state representatives. They must understand the importance of fire fighters being able to have a voice in our safety. PLEASE EMAIL THEM NOW WE ARE ON THE VERGE OF THE BIGGEST FIRE FIGHTER VICTORY IN YEARS!!! We have included some sample text, but feel free to edit the letter so it is more personal.

Message: Dear Representative, I am a fire fighter and I am asking that you please support SB 180. It is the Fire Fighter Collective Bargaining Act and is the NUMBER ONE LEGISLATIVE PRIORITY OF FIRE FIGHTERS. This act applies only to fire fighters. No state employees are covered nor are any other local employees. This act is modeled on the charter provisions that have successfully existed for decades between fire fighters in Denver (WHO RECENTLY MADE CONCESSIONS TO ENSURE FIRE SAFETY IN DENVER)! This act specifically PROHIBITS STRIKES & DOES NOT CREATE BINDING ARBITRATION! This act DOES NOT INTERFERE WITH EXISTING COLLECTIVE BARGAINING RELATIONSHIPS UNLESS THERE IS A VOTE TO CHANGE TO THE STATE LAW! FOR TOO LONG FIRE FIGHTERS HAVE NOT HAD A VOICE IN THEIR SAFETY. In light of our willingness to risk our lives for people we don't even know I am asking you to SUPPORT SB 180. Give America's first responders the support they need to do their jobs safely! GIVE FIRE FIGHTERS A VOICE IN THEIR SAFETY!!! SUPPORT SB 180!
